about

"There is something so refreshing about pressing play on a record that immediatley takes you on a journey. He Whose Ox Is Gored's Rumors is the kind of EP that does just that. "
-Violent Resonance-

"Rumors sounds intimate and heartfelt while maintaining an adequate energy. It's just edgy enough to be cool, but not so aggressive as to turn off a larger audience. They walk a stylistic line that could lead to quite the broad cross-section of converts. Rumors is incredibly catchy, especially in the vocal department. I have a feeling they could do much more musically but they wisely sacrifice overbearing virtuosity in the interest of songcraft and gut reaction."
-Kingdom of Noise-

"So, what to call this? How about sludgy psychoactive doom rocking prog metal? Or maybe “good shit” would do just as well."
-No Clean Singing-

about

He Whose Ox is Gored Seattle

“Their music is beautiful just as much as it’s brutal, and they wear nuance well. Were you to strictly measure the moments of distorted, pounding sludge against those of more exotic and meditative instrumentation, I wouldn’t be surprised if the ratio ended up dead even. It’s a dramatic approach but never an overbearing one, and genuinely innovative in a way that feels organic—synths or not.”Treble ... more
